Dentures

Modern dentures have come a very long way — today's fit better, look more natural and, with implant support, can feel almost like your own teeth again.

Confident Smiles, With or Without Natural Teeth

Losing your teeth doesn't mean losing your smile, your diet or your confidence. Well-made complete dentures restore the shape of your face, the clarity of your speech and the pleasure of eating — and modern materials make them look convincingly, naturally you. Whether you're getting your first denture, replacing a veteran, or ready to upgrade to implant stability, we handle it all at 990 River Road.

Denture Options We Offer

Complete (full) dentures. Replacing all teeth in the upper jaw, lower jaw or both — custom-crafted for your face, with tooth shapes and shades chosen with you, not for you.

Immediate dentures. Placed the same day remaining teeth are extracted, so you're never without teeth. Refined after healing for a precise long-term fit.

Implant-supported dentures. The modern game-changer: two or more dental implants anchor your denture so it snaps into place and stays there. Especially transformative for loose lower dentures. Ask about it at a complimentary implant consultation.

Relines, repairs and adjustments. Sore spots, loosening fit, a cracked base or a popped tooth — most repairs and relines are fast, and many can be handled while you wait.

Getting Dentures Right

The difference between dentures that disappear into your life and dentures that sit in a drawer is craftsmanship and follow-through. Expect several unhurried appointments: precision impressions, bite registration to set your jaw relationship, a try-in stage where you approve the look before final processing, and follow-up visits to smooth any sore spots. We don't consider a denture finished until you genuinely forget you're wearing it.

Life With Dentures

There's a learning curve — a few weeks of practice with speech and eating is normal, and we'll coach you through it. Remove and clean your denture daily, let your gums rest overnight, and keep annual check-ups: we monitor fit, screen your soft tissues for problems, and catch reline needs early. If you're finding stability frustrating, ask about implant support — it's a smaller step than most patients expect.

Dentures — Frequently Asked Questions

How long do dentures last?

Typically 5–10 years. Your jawbone slowly changes shape under a denture, so even a well-made one gradually loosens — relines restore the fit along the way, and eventually a new denture fits and functions better than endless adjustments to an old one.

Will I be without teeth while my dentures are made?

No. If extractions are needed, we can place an immediate denture the same day teeth are removed, so you never leave without a smile. It's later refined or replaced once healing settles.

Why does my lower denture float around?

Lower dentures have less bone to grip and a tongue constantly nudging them — it's the most common denture complaint there is. Two implants with snap attachments usually solve it completely; ask us about implant-supported options.

Are dentures covered by insurance or the CDCP?

Most dental plans contribute to dentures on a replacement schedule (commonly every 5+ years), and dentures are among the services addressed under the Canadian Dental Care Plan for eligible patients. We'll verify your coverage and bill directly.
