How Much Does Invisalign Cost in Ottawa?

Invisalign pricing confuses people because "it depends" is genuinely true — but the ranges, the inclusions and the insurance rules are all knowable. Here they are.

The short answer

Invisalign in Ottawa typically costs $3,500–$8,000, driven mostly by case complexity and treatment length. Insurance orthodontic benefits usually apply, financing spreads the rest into monthly payments, and a consultation with your digital preview — and exact quote — is free here.

What Determines Your Price

Complexity, mostly. Rotating one stubborn incisor is a different project than correcting a deep overbite. More movement means more aligner stages, more refinements and more monitoring — that's the cost driver.

Case type Examples Typical Ottawa range
Simple / cosmetic minor crowding, small gaps, post-braces relapse $3,500 – $5,000
Moderate noticeable crowding, rotations, mild bite issues $5,000 – $6,500
Complex significant bite correction, major crowding $6,500 – $8,000

What should be included (ask, because it varies by office): records and digital scans, all aligner stages, tooth-coloured attachments, refinements (the "round two" aligners most cases need), progress visits — and critically, retainers at the end. A lowball quote that bills refinements and retainers separately isn't a lowball at all.

How Ottawa Patients Pay for It

Insurance orthodontic benefits. If your plan has ortho coverage, Invisalign qualifies like braces — commonly 50% coverage to a lifetime max of $1,500–$3,000. Watch for age limits (some plans cover only minors) and remember ortho maximums are lifetime, not annual. We'll verify your plan and submit the pre-determination before you commit.

Monthly financing. Most offices, ours included, split treatment into monthly payments across the treatment itself — effectively paying as your teeth move. Financing details →

Health spending accounts and tax credits: HSA/FSA funds apply, and orthodontics can qualify for the medical expense tax credit — keep your receipts.

Invisalign vs. Braces vs. Mail-Order Aligners

Braces remain cost-comparable and better for some complex movements — if your case is one of them, we'll say so and refer honestly.

Mail-order aligners ($2,000–$3,000) look tempting, but the discount buys no exams, no x-rays (root and gum problems move silently), no attachments (limiting what can move), and no dentist watching progress. The horror stories aren't rare, and fixing them costs more than doing it right once. Straightening teeth is a medical procedure; supervision is the product.
