Teeth Whitening

The biggest smile upgrade per dollar in dentistry — professional-strength whitening with custom trays, done safely under a dentist's supervision.

Brighter, Safely

Whitening is often the first cosmetic treatment patients try — and the one most riddled with underwhelming drugstore products and social-media gimmicks. The professional version is simply better: stronger materials, custom-fitted delivery, and a dentist confirming your teeth are healthy enough to whiten comfortably. It's also more affordable than most patients expect, which is why we suggest it before bigger cosmetic steps — sometimes brightness alone is the whole fix.

How Our Whitening Works

Health check first. Whitening over cavities or gum inflammation hurts. A quick exam (and ideally a fresh cleaning — whitening works dramatically better on plaque-free enamel) comes before any gel.

Custom trays. We take impressions and craft thin, precisely fitted trays that hug every contour — holding professional gel evenly against the teeth and away from your gums. This fit is the quiet difference between professional results and drugstore disappointment.

Professional gel, guided pace. You whiten at home on a schedule we set together — typically one to two weeks of short daily sessions. Sensitive teeth? We slow the pace, adjust concentration and supply desensitizing gel. You stay in control.

The check-in. We verify the result, compare against your starting shade, and hand you the maintenance plan. Your trays last years — future touch-ups cost only a syringe of gel.

Honest Expectations

Whitening lightens natural enamel — it doesn't touch crowns, veneers or fillings, and it can't fix internal discolouration from old injuries or root canals (that's bonding or veneer territory). Yellow-ish staining from coffee, tea, wine and time responds best; grey tones respond more slowly. If whitening isn't going to deliver what you're hoping for, we'll say so at the exam and show you what will.

Planning bonding or veneers too? Whiten first — we'll match the new restorations to your brighter shade, not the old one.

Teeth Whitening — Frequently Asked Questions

Why is professional whitening better than store-bought kits?

Three reasons: stronger gel (professional concentrations aren't sold over the counter), custom-fitted trays that hold gel evenly against every tooth without leaking onto gums, and supervision — we confirm your teeth are healthy first and manage sensitivity along the way. One-size drugstore trays leak, dilute and miss.

Is whitening safe for my enamel?

Yes — peroxide whitening is one of the most-studied procedures in dentistry and doesn't soften or damage enamel when used as directed. The known side effects are temporary sensitivity and gum irritation, both manageable with proper trays and pacing. Long-term overuse of any bleaching product can cause sensitivity issues, which is another argument for supervision.

How white will my teeth get?

Most patients gain several shades; natural yellow-toned staining responds best, grey or tetracycline discolouration more modestly. Crowns, veneers and fillings don't bleach at all — we'll flag any that might need updating to match. We'll give you an honest prediction before you spend a dollar.

How long do whitening results last?

Typically one to three years before a top-up, depending on coffee, tea, wine and smoking habits. With custom trays, maintenance is easy — a night or two of touch-up gel restores the shade whenever you like.
